What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
- Manaiakalani does not dictate the learning that happens in individual schools - this is and always has been the a choice made by the school and community
- Two tracks - infrastructure and teaching/learning - changing how we teach and learn - needs to have a positive/accelerated outcome - has to make a difference
- Good practise remains good practise
- Recognise effective practise in the digital environment
- Amplify effective practise- share with each other (using digital technology)
- Turbocharge use technology to add, reading - locate something to enhance what they have just read.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
- That I can enhance the learning and learning experience by including things like Google Earth for looking at places that come up in lessons i.e. Thailand Cave Rescue
- Can use my phone to voice record and share so that children can rewind learning
- Extension - Toby - puts sites together if you want a number of tabs to open
What did I learn that could be used with my learners?
- Child help child - screen record
- Hangouts - Up to 50 - Mute when you are not talking - Headphone in a room with other people - Can be done on calendar - Share a doc and both work on it - Screencastify to record what’s happening on screen
