What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

Crosscountry etc - Interschool sports!

Can also use Laptop Webcam - e.g. child reading to whānau - rules, guidelines around this - not live until sure about content etc.

Drone - kids can code and develop a flight path

Families can view if they can’t be there

Creating playlists - find what you want first and use += button

Under name - creator studio - live streaming - camera/events - private then turn live when ready

Video Manager - playlist - edit - (can drag and order, add to another playlist), share, embed link, copy - go to blog HTML and paste - compose

Kids put everything first to their drive - movies etc. - more access/control

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?

• Hook - doing
• Developing skills of collaboration - x side by side on a doc etc.
• Not necessarily using technology
• Multiple senses
• 6Cs 

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

• Google Forms
• Taking a photo with my computer - use draw, insert image, camera - file  and download as a JPEG so can be inserted
• Now can have answers in quizzes - Settings - Quiz - add answers
• Form for knowledge (basic facts) what they’d like to learn next
• Spreadsheets
• Autofill - corner and drag (monday, month, s/thing with # added
• Cell  - text wrapping - when you have lots of text
• List in a cell -  ALT enter
• Names two in a cell  - data - split text 2 columns

• Second set of data is added by edit chart - increase data range (DATA)

What did I learn that could be used with my learners?  

• Use Google Form for getting learners to share their next learning steps
• Spreadsheets can be used to teach rounding of decimal numbers
• Get chn to graph their own learning data - books read etc. minutes reading at home - I can see that  this could be a powerful tool for motivating learners
• My maps - great for tracking location in a story or article or as a tool for telling a story
• Children who are away on holiday can share their experience in a variety of ways - movies, maps, pictures and using hangouts

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?

• Manaiakalani does not dictate the learning that happens in individual schools - this is and always has been the a choice made by the school and community
• Two tracks - infrastructure and teaching/learning - changing how we teach and learn - needs to have a positive/accelerated outcome - has to make a difference
• Good practise remains good practise
• Recognise effective practise in the digital environment
• Amplify effective practise- share with each other (using digital technology)
• Turbocharge use technology to add, reading - locate something to enhance what they have just read.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

• That I can enhance the learning and learning experience by including things like Google Earth for looking at places that come up in lessons i.e. Thailand Cave Rescue
• Can use my phone to voice record and share so that children can rewind learning
• Extension - Toby - puts sites together if you want a number of tabs to open

What did I learn that could be used with my learners?

• Child help child - screen record
• Hangouts - Up to 50 - Mute when you are not talking - Headphone in a room with other people - Can be done on calendar - Share a doc and both work on it - Screencastify to record what’s happening on screen

• What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?

I learnt how important it is for me to have a good understanding of the technology that the children use. I need to check what skills they have (particularly at the beginning of the year).Technology is used to help the children engage with the curriculum and to raise achievement.

Can check on individuals by checking revision history and tool activity dashboard

• What did I learn that could be used with my learners?  

Using Ctrl F for finding key information

Using Ctrl Shift V to paste (especially good for PDFs)

Voice to Text - how important this is for a number of my learners
Google Keep can be used to make copies of stories/article from SJ to be used with Reader/Write tools.
